Not long ago I had an art show made up of 10 years of paintings. Its safe to say it was a mini retrospect. Some were abstract expressionism but the majority were made up of my
figurative work. It didn't occur to me until a black couple approached me and ask do I have any black subjects in any of my art. To the best of my ability I explained my art as literally multicolor. The building blocks of my DNA including that of African descent. I like to believe my work is not made up of no one race but multiple races. Its who I am.
